EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

For throwback Thursday just going back a few years to our vacation to Hawaii when my wife arranged to visit Keith Ouye at his shop, garage was packed with tools and supplies but everything was in its place. Super nice guy, worked for the telephone company, and after a tour we went and had lunch at his favorite Japanese restaurant. His work is usually sent off to an engraver for the final touches but my wife purchased this as a reminder of this trip.1701340321764.jpeg

Same stuff, different day at the stream. New knife though, finally found a large Inkosi Insingo plain jane, in MagnaCut to boot.

For those concerned, fish were caught. Can't seem to catch a cloudy day at the stream this year (the fish are much more active without full sun) but the browns were pretty active anyway so that was nice. Most that I caught were of pretty good size for this little creek, too. Did find a few rainbows but mostly I was just happy to be in a peaceful place on a warm (low 50s F) November day.

The way you are holding the fish here is the same pose some people take knife pictures. I was not paying much attention while scrolling through and had to double take as I thought it was some strange new knife at first!

Lately my Eka 8 (not my pic) with a lock back since I cut myself by my own fault using my Old Hickory slip joint. I used too much force trying to puncture some plastic containers and the knife folded on my knuckle when I used too much force and it folded. Luckily didn’t feel it too much as it hit my knuckle, took awhile to stop bleeding. Still will use my OH but a good reminder of how to be careful and not use too much force and think twice about how you use it, slip joint or lock back. I knew the OH didn’t have a real good point to puncture. It was my own fault. It did get me thinking of using my small fixed blades again, which I like small fixies anyway …….but still more smartly. 😀
