Man.. I have a lot of daily knife pics I've taken that I get too lazy to post. This Chaparral though has become my real true EDC lately though. It's proven to be fantastic for me. It fits in the watch pocket of my work jeans that I wear every weekday, so I've only not carried it maybe 2 days out of the past 2 or 3 weeks. It's getting smoother and smoother and just simply works for me. And then I got the SHF Viking here. The engraving/anodizing on this particular SHF pattern works particularly well for me because it will be very easy for me to refinish when it gets scratched up and faded. It's as simple as re-anodizing it, then rubbing the Ti flats against some wet n dry sandpaper to freshen up the satin finish. And if it were to get really blemished up, I could have someone re-blast the scales first, then anodize the whole surface of the scales, and then again give the Ti flats a quick rub down on wet n dry. Happy saturday folks!

Thanks again to DocJekl for these very beautiful scales for my TRM Neutron folder, it really dresses the pocket knife up a great deal and adds a little bit of texture as well. He also had a nice pair of gloves in the box which I gave to my wife and she is tough to buy for but liked those, so, win win

For anybody that’s interested, those scales are made by Match Anderson Guitars LLC and he is active on Facebook. He uses a CNC machine to carve out the scales perfectly, and then hand finishes them. He uses a variety of materials, including wood carbon fiber, acrylic, and others, and can also do compound and inlaid scales.

When I find the time to install some of my own scales, I’ll show them off. I have a couple of sets for my TRM neutron two and a couple of sets for my atom.

They were somewhat common back in 2020, in fact they made a blue timascus and a purple timascus version. I got mine from the exchange. I expect they are out of production now.

J jfk1110 , thank you! Getting to the mountains has been our dream for the last 23 years. Lol, I’m just hoping it doesn’t take another 23 years for us to start enjoying it on a regular/seasonal basis.
