EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

It's the last day of my SHF trifecta--maybe a Throwback Thursday as this one has the old steel and the old pivot and includes, by default, the old over-travel stop. This is my work user, though I didn't do any real work today, only slaying a number of cardboard boxes after our monthly bulk shopping at BJ's.

On my way home this afternoon I spotted a gator sunbathing on our golf course. Figured I’d stop, take a closer look and maybe get a few pics of the Cronos Certus that was in my pocket….

Alligators are an extremely common sight here in southwest Florida; but what’s unusual about this one is its size. In residential communities, they typically trap and relocate them when they get large enough to pose a threat to people.

Unfortunately, these pics simply don’t capture/convey the length and mass of this one. A neighbor of ours showed us a video he took of it eating a full size doe just a few days ago. It may not look it, but if I had to guess I’d say it’s at least 10 feet long (edited for accuracy).

That’s the tee box about 15-feet behind it. The cart path is on the other side. A foursome had just teed off before I took these. I don’t think they even noticed it.

Anyway, apologies for the long-winded tangent. Thought maybe some of the city folks might get a kick out of it.

I made a delivery of electrical supplies to the electricians working on site of this church. Apparently it was built in 1910. Quite the amazing architecture! Hand made stained glass windows everywhere you look, hand sculpted little cement shapes protruding around the window seals, all types of cool stuff. I just imagine them bringing in load after load of bricks in the brand new Model T, or probably even horse and cart maybe, and just laying bricks and sculpting all day, going up higher and higher, one brick at a time. I personally think that that's the generation that I feel like I'm supposed to be in, hopefully born right after the Civil War, and die right before the Great Depression. Whew, ya never know what we have coming around the bend.. 😮
