EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Over the last few months I've gone through several Brand Benders, carrying and posting all my knives from several favorite makers--RHK, CRK, Al Mar, Cheburkov, and Shirogorov. I've yet to go through my couple dozen each of Spydies and BMKs in that manner, but it seems in the meantime I've been sticking in a drawer for a couple/three days in a row with a maker and then moving on to another.

Anyway, yesterday and today it's Al Mar again and we'll see where tomorrow goes when I get there....

After yesterday's shoutout to a couple of our friends here, I'd be remiss in not giving one to good guy Barman1 Barman1 for reaching out and giving me the chance to add this long-desired beauty to my pile o' pigstickers. :D

I really like the mini Bugout it is the perfect knife to grab on the go. I've dressed mine up with some Flytanium Micarta scales. It's a great throw in the pocket knife.

Throwback Thumb Stud Thursday! The Tangram Santa Fe was the best budget knife I'd encountered when it was released. It's still the best $25 knife I ever bought. The thin blade in Japanese Acuto 440 cuts like a dream, even though the grind on this one is slightly off. (I ended up giving away my first one to someone who had lost their knife. I later bought a bunch of them to give away as Christmas gifts and kept the one with the funky grind for myself. BTW, at least one of those ended up being someone's primary carry for over a year and only stopped because it fell out of their pocket somewhere in the woods.)

Thankfully, Kizer has revisited the concept of a budget line with their recent Laconic series in 9Cr18Mov. They aren't quite the same killer value but a lot has happened since Tangram shut down and the dollar isn't what is used to be. Still, the new Laconic series has a lot to offer under $50.

A knife exhibition and sale opened today in St. Petersburg. I popped in there for a while while my daughter was in an extra German class.

I didn't have time to see everything. I needed to run away. But I'll definitely be back for some of these beauties. On the way out I grabbed a kuksa made from cedar wood. :)
