These are the names of the days of the week in Japanese. In this case, it is Saturday.

Yep. It is the Japanese domestic market version of the watch. I was able to score it near the same price as the US market version, so I went ahead and ordered it from Japan. They are sometimes preferred by collectors because they are made in the Japan factory (I think), but the only discernable difference is the option for Japanese in the day wheel, and the "Made in Japan" marking on the dial that my aging eyes can't make out anyway. I don't much look at the day of the week function on a watch so I leave it on Japanese for interest.
