This is Buck 880, the tanto is not a very practical blade, and I replaced it with a blade from s30v, it was like that

I dig that firetac a lot! How is it’s action & edge geometry compare to your 0640?

The Firetac is great, very happy w/ it and the 640..best purchases Ive made in years and both models got me on their respective brand.
Both smooth, smooth. I have the Firetacset up w/ a little less resistance but both have great detents and a hydraulic feel.
The 640 has slightly thicker blade stock and a more obtuse edge. Knocking the shoulders down/micro bevel is in its future. Out of box the Firetac will have the better geometry, both would benefit from a slight reprofile.

If you like the 640 you will love the firetac. It is hands down the nicest Hinderer I’ve ever encountered.
