I'll add about today's trip.
We went with the whole family to Oranienbaum.
The Palace of Prince Menshikov. His country residence.

Petrine Baroque in all its glory. Probably the largest surviving example.

The territory is quite large. A system of lakes and canals.

Many pavilions.

A concert hall designed by Rastrelli himself.

Smoking is prohibited in the word "completely". I purposefully walked around with an unlit pipe in my teeth. Local security guards came up to me twice and asked me to put it away. A Rosgrvardeyskaya came up once.

Then we went to the beach, to the Gulf of Finland. While my family was drawing "with their bare ass in wet water", I found a piece of root on the shore. I whittled out a goose. :)

Don't ask me why it's a goose. I just saw it.

My favorite slicer. I brought it down to 30° inclusive & dyed the handles red. Superblue steel reminds alot of 3G steel. You can get it crazy sharp easily & it keeps that edge for a long time.(depending on use of course).
