Today we have a gubernatorial election and my daughter's school was taken away for voting. I looked at this and decided not to go to work.
My daughter and I sat, thought, leafed through the map, and then headed towards Karelia.

The Church of St. Andrew on the Vuoksa (the name of the river)

The church turned out to be closed. Opening hours are Saturday-Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00. The pastor clearly doesn't get tired at work... :)

The Ryaisalya parish church.

Now the village club. I photographed almost the same church in Primorsk. But these are different ends of the Karelian Isthmus. I googled it, and it's definitely the same architect.

Then we drove to the coast of Lake Ladoga. The pier and the Vuokhensalo lighthouse. Now it's called Motornaya Bay.

We arrived in Priozersk closer to six in the evening. So the city fortress-museum "Korela" was left for the morning. We walked around the city. The only worthy attraction of the city, besides the fortress, was the Finnish church of 1930.

There is also the Valaam courtyard. With a church of 1892 and a cemetery next to it. It is interesting that the church was built by a Finnish architect, but in the neo-Russian style.

But the territory was ruined by building another church there in the early 2000s. Right at the entrance. The project was drawn by priests together with local businessmen. I didn’t even take a picture of this wretchedness.

Well, tomorrow the fortress and we will move on, into the depths of Karelia! :)

Thank you for sharing your views of the world that I doubt that I will even be able to see in person. A guided tour through the highlights of your area makes me wish I was more of a world traveler 😉
