Awesome photos.
The pup sure is growing and filling out.
Not sure about the town thing tho. I grew up on a farm, but now live in the city limits. With the right town it might be OK. Looks and sounds like you found the right town.
You pair scotch and fruit a lot. Scotch is one beverage I never acquired a taste for. I am not sure if bourbon would pair with fruit.
Sounds like you and your family certainly did find the right balance. Always good when that happens. Thanks! Yea, we lucked up and found the perfect balance for us right now. Plus we got lucky with the house because we have the park/field across the street with views. Little crime to speak of, wholesome family oriented neighborhood, and a thriving little town square of a couple of blocks with good food and drink. It's only about 5 sq miles and surrounded by cow pastures and then wilderness for the most part. Still, as a country boy who grew up on a farm as well (and in the woods), farm living on a nice piece of land is the way to go for sure.
That's just my all around whiskey glass, so it varies between Scotch, bourbon, and rye for me (that was actually WT Rare Breed). I think it pairs great with fruit, but other's mileage may vary. It's my typical after dinner ritual to have some fruit and a whiskey right after my meal, and I'm sure that has reinforced it in my brain as a positive experience. I should note as well that I tend to favor the heat of high proof bourbons and ones with the peppery punch of rye coming through, so that makes a nice contrast to the fruit (for me at least).
And yes, the puppers is getting sooo big so fast (8 months now). He used to sit in my lap and disappear into my robe. He's coming along pretty well in training too. I still keep a leash on him for walks, but most of the time I can just drop it and he'll follow right along.
