Hoollllyyy crap, my power just came back on, it turned off monday afternoon and
just now came back on! That's the longest I've personally ever heard of the power being out in a modern US city. It's been a dark (as far as light goes) week, what with it getting dark at 5pm. No heat for a few days till I got some wood, no charging of anything battery powered unless I went somewhere to charge it, no refrigeration, kinda crazy times.
However, I'm super blessed to have 2 fireplaces inside, and boy did I have it cranking last night. Luckily I'm camped my whole life, so I have a dual burner Coleman stove, an MSR isobutane stove, plenty of clothes and blankets, flashlights, headlamps, etc.
The first day of the outage most of the whole area was out though and the sky was just so amazingly beautiful! All these street lights and lights everywhere else really make us forget where exactly we are since we can't see the stars, planets, and constellations.
