Southern California? How are y'all doing as we type?
I’m Good Brother Thanks for asking . I’m only a mile from the coast and all the fires are west of me and the wind and smoke is blowing the other direction. But so Sad for all the families that lost there homes a long with all the fatalities and also wild life :(

More info? WE making great knives.
From KC website, hope this helps! : "Knife Collaboration of the Year at BLADE Show 2023. Integral handle design with heaving machining for aesthetics and weight reduction, a compound ground modified spear point blade with a nice thumb ramp, and Gus' own SLT Spring Loaded flipper Tab. The SLT is a spring-loaded tab connected to the blade that pivots, launching the blade out superbly fast while folding back onto itself to be concealed when open. It's way cool and more importantly highly functional. GTC always impresses and WE has really done this knife justice. It's a Solid recommendation."

Understood, no surprises there, but super glad you're okay...prayers for all others!

Carried my beloved Kershaw Avalanche today. Man do I love this folder. In all honesty, this is really the only folder I need, as long as something catastrophic didn't happen to it, it'd probably last me most of the rest of my life. It's a S30v blem (back when S30v was hot stuff) that i got from the Kershaw blem sale many many years ago. I think Thomas W. of Kershaw may have actually given me this one.

Right before re-joing BF a few years ago for this stint in knife world, this was the only folder I carried, and I carried it for about a year and a half straight. I didn't have any sharpening equipment and it held it's edge the whole time with stropping. It's one of those "perfect" knives for me, of which I've come across a handful in my days. Perfect proportions. I also carried the Para 3, which I also really like, however this particular Kershaw tops it in my view.

Edit: The Avalanche is also the knife that I put my first freehand edge on by laying the ceramic Sharpmaker rods into the slots on the backside of the Sharpmaker base, turning it into a psuedo benchstone.
