I don't have any experience with the Chaparral, but I have seen a lot of praise for the SE Chap lately. I'm not sure how well they compare, but I can definitely say the SE ARK is VERY thin and slicey! Too bad it's discontinued.Dang you and your SERRATED Ark !
I actually have a good / regular use for one at work and all they make now is PLAIN EDGE.
I almost bought a Spyderco Snap It Salt to do the job but just didn't like it as much and didn't like the seller (wasn't on our exchange).
Now the plain edge just dropped in price and I'm still talking myself out of buying one and serrating it myself. I have done similar but don't enjoy it.
I am surprised with all the banter I have seen about the Chaparral serrated being "the best cutter in the world " that no Ark owner has not jumped in and said the Ark is even better.
Because it is better than the serrated Chap isn't it ?
Nice setup
