I'm also not a fan of Cold Steels serrations. I actually have a SE Hold Out 1 that I removed the serrations, converted to a chisel plain edge.Thank you for responding.
The most recent one I serrated was a Cold Steel 3 inch Holdout. I chose that one because there isn't much handle hanging down below a straight shot back from the blade edge and that is sort of what I need but I am sure that belly and curved tip of your Ark would be even more useful.
Also the tiny Cold Steel serrations tend to hold tape glue and debris where the Spyderedge does not so that is why I put large serrations on the plain edge Holdout.
I have very recently bought the Gray FRN Serrated Chaparral but will not have a chance to use it at work until another truck load comes in.
I used it last night side by side with a factory edge Spyderco Carbon Fiber Mantra on cutting up croissant boxes from the bakery and cutting up a lotion bottle to get the last goop out and I must repeat : I am NOT a serrated edge fan and prefer polished plain edge. The Mantra blew the serrated away
but
there are CERTAINLY tasks where the serrated shines !
I was surprised to find the actual sharpening bevel that was on top of the Chap. serrations to be surprisingly obtuse. I would have much preferred they used the angle they created when forming the serrations. There seemed to be some angle on the flat side right on the edge. Not an optimal Spyderedge IMO
Is it true the ARK has no flat right side but is hollow ground on both sides ? I thought I read that in the past some where.
It seems you have a rare and unique knife there in any case.![]()

Used my old Kershaw Blur (14c28n) to destroy a memory foam mattress topper, this afternoon.
What was very interesting is the edge became sharper the more I cut with it. The foam must have acted as a strop...wild.
