My thoughts as well !
I don't see the mandatory stick welder rod test on it though , gotta be there to break it in properly .😁
I've got my Dad's old vise . Took it before their house got sold after he had passed . Great memories ; out in the shed using it as a tot trying to be a little perfectionist just like Dad ! Must be pushing a hundred years old , I found a wheel off a Ford Model A in the attic about that time snooping around .

Nearly any time I'm at a vise at home I use that one even though I have a plethora of others . ( I'm a metal rat so that's my main thing .)

My girl friend picked up a medium stockman for me at an antique shop .
She was proud of it .
I didn't have the heart to tell her it was a pretty cheep knife (stamped molded on bolsters AND the plastic scales were completely missing ! Probably got ran over by a car at some point in it's life .
Just sort of a behind the scenes lumpy sheet metal handle. Made in Ireland though back in the day so that was very cool . Carbon steel blade .

What I am getting at is I put the best dambed polished edge on it ! ! !
I carry it with me in my backpack pocket EVERYDAY and love it for it's kind of rescued stray kind of vibe .
