Those crows are SPOILED!This is my daily routine now. It's the craziest thing you've ever seen, and I've learned a lot about the intelligence of crows lately. So I have these 2 crows, the same 2 crows, that I've had a relationship with 3 years now. It all started when I left some scraps from dinner on the deck (maybe accidentally, I don't remember), but they flew in and started munching. I got the idea to start putting scraps out there for them, then it became a routine. Ever since then I've been feeding them daily(almost, I've missed a few). They hangout with me all Spring and Summer now, and into a little bit of the Fall, and then disappear until the following Spring. Well they're back in full force and this year and we've really begun a super strong relationship. Right hand to God, when they see my vehicle coming up the road from town they fly down to the powerlines across the street from my kitchen window and stare at me through the kitchen window because they know that that's when I feed them. I'll go out there and put some food on the deck rail, and now days as soon as I step back into the house they swoop in and start munching. Yesterday they had a Smorgasbord of chopped up leftover pieces (which I rinse to get rid of some of the strong flavoring, too much sodium is bad for them) of chicken from chinese food and cut up pieces of apple, with a sprinkling of sunflower seeds which they like to crack one by one for dessert. I also have a makeshift bird bath that I put on the ground which they bathe in during the hot summer months.
Not only that, but I swear to you also, that most everytime that I leave my bedroom (where my computer is), and walk up stairs to get something to eat, they fly to that same spot, and watch and wait to see if I'll bring them something else out. They have a nest in the distance, about 250 feet away in a couple trees about 75 feet up, I don't know if they just happen to live where they have a line of sight to my bedroom computer and kitchen window, or if they chose that spot for that reason, but that's where they seem to live. They haven't got so comfortable that they'll chill right next to me a few feet away, or that they're cool with eating from my hand, but that might be next. The other day I walked out there about 6 feet away from them to give them some more small cut up pieces of pizza though.
Crows are a fun way to get rid of your scraps, and if you feed them they'll always remember you (there's a study from a university in WA that says so). The interesting thing is also, that they never bring other crows with them, and no other crows encroach on their spot here, they just quietly keep this spot to themselves, or the other crows have an agreement that this is strictly their spot.

Haha yes they are. But... They're good people, so I guess they deserve it. I highly recommend getting a crow friend. Those crows are SPOILED!
That is wicked brother.
