I hadn't really thought about it being Throwback Thursday, but it's actually been an all-throwback week, starting with the early Gen Cheburkov Snach that I acquired last Friday, then pairing that with my Shiro Tabargan, another pairing with my D2 710, then the 710 solo on Wednesday. Yesterday I had a bit of back-and-forth with kreole kreole over at the Benchmade pages about 710's and looked at and responded to his post with a pic of someone else's knife and an AFCK. That got a couple of my 806's out today and I primarily carried my -1101 as the D2 806BK is pretty much a drawer queen. It's in all-but-new condition and I'd hate to mark up its beautiful blade.

screws through the CF, hidden under the clip.
Great design ; nice clean look/ keeps screws from backing out .
I have had the pivot action go to hell on knives that were designed to have a back spacer and then the company eliminated the spacer in the new version .
e.g., Benchmade 710 M390 Blue and Black laminated G-10
I hope yours is happy.

Always been a big mustang fan since I was a kid.
Growing up when I was about ten . . .
next door to the south was a black Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra , black paint , black interior , came from the factory with roll bar and full harness when your average person on the street was cussing and saying "ain't nobody going to make me wear a seat belt ".
Occasionally I was allowed to sit in the driver seat while parked in the driveway.

Next door to the north was Rocky who owned a 55 Chevy like one would see in the hot rod magazines of the day ; hot rodded , NICE orange custom paint with white interior.
But the BIG DEAL there was his show choppers , just like you would see at the big car & bike shows . He rode on the week ends with a biker club when he wasn't out with the National Guard .

Since I was like six I would go over there and polish chrome and talk with him.
Ha ha, he could ride my singray bicycle backwards down the street while he was sitting on the handlebars and HE WAS A BIG DUDE !
hell when I was little I used to marvel at how wide the back of his head was hahaha.

Boy was I lucky !
From then on I read REAL car magazines with all sorts of rebuilding articles.
I'm not tooting my little horn but marveling at the fact : the very first time , as a young teenager, on a job site I was asked to drive a small dump truck to a different location I gulped and said . . . OK . . . I had never driven a stick until that moment (nor clutch motor cycle) .
Because I knew how it all worked and could envision it all I got in and drove it no problem.
Surprised the heck out of me after hearing people talk about Learning To Drive A Clutch .

Yeah I was lucky !
