elde66 inspired me to carry both old and new versions of the PF719 today. Being clipless, I carried one in each pocket of my cardigan sweater. A little silly? Sure, but it was fun.

The one with wooden scales is the oldest and first generation of the PF719. I've had it for years, since before Petrified Fish was really known in the west. I still remember finding them on AliExpress. I'd been looking at random Chinese budget knives and discovered that Petrified Fish had been the OEM for some that were a hit on Budget Light Forum. I ordered this one and it was my first to wear the PF brand.

The new carbon fiber version is part of the third generation AFAIK. There had been an update between them in which the brand medallion replaced the central body screw. Not sure if the change to the lock bar was in the second or third generation. They also went from single-sided to double-sided thumb studs. Aside from being available in more handle materials, a big upgrade with the third generation is the move from 12C27 to 14C28N.
