Yes some of the after market springs and even other brand knives with Axis lock catches me by surprised.
I was going to ask but you may have already answered one of my questions ; you mentioned one finger on the bar to operate it.
but here goes anyway
1. normally do you use one finger / thumb to work the lock or pinch grip the Axis thumb on one side and index on the other ?
2. do you regularly fidget a lot or not so much ?

I've never broken a spring so was wondering what it takes .

Congrats on the new knife and up grade of the other !
Yeah I've noticed that with axis lock knives of other brands too, a bit stiffer.

I fidget quite a bit yes. I normally go between using one thumb to operate the axis, to pinching it with my thumb and index finger like you said. But really, the way I broke it was weird. I drive for a living and I was at a jobsite sitting there inside the cab bored, and I was doing something stupid absent-mindedly. I remember, at that moment I was kind of absent doing a motion as if I were very lightly doing a spine wack on the steering wheel (very lightly, basically just a little more than the weight of my knife and hand), yet I would pull the axis lock right at the time that it hit the steering wheel. Sort of a little dumb game that I was doing for a few moments (not something I normally do, just this time). Not sure why I was doing this, it's super stupid, yet that's what I was doing while in a sort of bored anxious haze at work. Well, I think the time it broke I pulled the axis lock a moment too late and the blade spine lightly hit the steering wheel, and then I pulled the axis lock. And boom, spring breakage.

So I was doing something super stupid. And I wasn't even really thinking about what I was doing. Just one of those moments where you're in a haze doing something while waiting (and my knife was an extension of me). It did still surprise me though since I was just barely hitting it, however I bought the Bugout used, so who knows what the previous owner(s) may have done behind the scenes.

Hmmm.... Sounds even stupider now that I type it.

You traveling into NYC today?
With the blade length that should have a two hand grip.
Nah just.putzin around the yard and scaring Neighbors😜.......
I thought about a bigger handle but.I wanted to stay in the spirit.of the blade it was based on........

Its not as unwieldy as you would think nor as heavy........

Fun toy.....👌
