I tried a gas RC plane back in the 80s. I wasn’t mature enough for the hobby at that time. I tried an electric RC helicopter 10 years later and the tech was ‘meh’. Now, I have two RC Crawlers and a wicked fast basher…never could get the hang of that 3rd dimension. I pass an airstrip on my to and from work daily and often see RC planes flying over the horizon. Still looks like a lot of fun!

Times have changed and the tech is off the charts for RC Fixed wing and Helicopters. My biggest are 42% Ultimate Bipe and 44% Extra 330(125” wingspan )both with 19hp gas 170cc twin engines spinning 32X12 Carbon props! Planes weigh 39-44lbs and have 85lbs of thrust! The power combined with the advanced design allows for post stall flight. Good stuff.
