  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Corncob pipes are so underrated. Missouri Meerschaum? I also don't think I've had an English/burley mix, sounds interesting.
No, sadly not a MM. I picked it up out here in SD at a smoke shop for a few extra smokes since i only brought one pipe on the trip. Assumed it was a MM. When i got back to hotel and put my glasses on I saw it was Chinese. Worked ok for about 2 bowls. Had a catastrophic failure minutes after this picture. Had a hole in the bottom that was filled with some sort of spray foam material.

I agree, though. Cobs are great and I’m really happy with the MMs I have. Apparently the Chinese haven’t caught up to 19th century American pipe technology yet.

Today's carry is the Kizer Mini Mystic with 154CM blade, Ultem bolsters and Burlap Micarta handle and pivot collars.
I just love a good harpoon blade.

Since I carried my 585 Mini Barrage yesterday--a gift from my wife quite a few years back that I've sentimentally kept stock--I figured I'd go with my 581 today. I've executed a few mods on this one--de-assisting, removing the back spacer and lock, adding simple standoffs, and swapping the thumbstud and bolster screws to black. I don't dislike the smaller 585 and am quite alright with 154CM as a blade steel, but this one has an M390 blade, is a much better fit for my hand, flies out easily without the AO, drops shut, and definitely has more pizazz than the little guy.
