EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

norcalAF norcalAF Thanks! I figured brookie handles would fit well onto a bird n' trout knife. David calls this one the "Bird & Shark" as it's bigger than an earlier design of his. It's one of my handiest fixed blades that can handle most anything.

David also made a matching knife for my daughter with the leftover material.

Beautiful! Now I gotta get a set of father daughter knives 😂.

Alright, I gotta ask. What is the odd looking “fruit?” With the green rind? Beautiful pics!

Thanks! Those are figs, from our tree. This variety never darkens into the brow/black/purple of most varieties. If I'm lucky our tree will produce around 20 per year, but these are right up there with the best I've ever tasted. I'm not a fan at all of dried figs, but good fresh figs have got to be my personal favorite fruit.

Didn't take too many knife pics today, just tending to the fruit trees and chillin' around the pad trying to beat the heat. Made some honey sweetened watermelon agua fresca to help. Well, it also had one peach in it because I had one non-keeper that was bruised from falling out of the tree and hitting me in the head 🤕🤣

Our company arrived two days early as our middle son, wife, and grandson from the left coast had their first stop after arriving at Logan fall through. I was caught in the middle of repairing all the backsplash and counter edging with the kitchen all in chaos. I finished up most of the backsplash part last night, took off all the clamping, replaced the one section I'd had to remove to fix, got all the coves caulked, and cleaned up enough to put things back in order. I needed a work knife and made it a Shiro Sunday with my F95 Turtle.

Two of my all time favorites from David.

My neighbor has a green fig tree grown from a cutting he got from a friend in Italy. They are delicious if I can beat the squirrels to them!
