EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Hopefully other than the knife it was a good trip.
You might try 000 or 0000 steel wool to remove the rust. Hope it cleans up.
Oh it was a fantastic trip! Super super awesome. 8 nights out in the woods will always be better than almost anything for me. That's a good idea on the steel wool, I think I even have some on hand. Thanks!
LimpCroissant LimpCroissant , ^ That's what I'd do, or use one of those Scotch Brite pot scrubber thingies, with some Bar Keeper's Friend.
I haven't "googled" it, but like everything else, I'm sure there are a whole bunch of "experts" out there with YouTube videos on that very subject.
A Scotch Brite pad is good thinkin too, thank you!
Try this.

Use a plastic container that the knife will fit into. Then completely cover the knife, let sit. Should be gone in a couple hours. If not, let it sit overnight.
I've never messed with any chemical rust remover, but after reading some reviews on it, it looks like that could be just what the doctor ordered. Probably dulls the edge a decent little bit being a type of acid I presume, but that's not really a problem. It could use a good sharpening anyway. Thanks!

Glad it was a great trip.
8 nights in the woods could help a lot of us, myself included.
Hopefully you get the knife resolved.

I spent the afternoon working in the sheetmetal shop. I got a nice order for custom head flashing for a large remodeling project from a client. There were a lot of different lengths and a hundred lineal feet of cutting 2-foot baked enamel aluminum stock into 3 7/16" strips, notching both ends of 23 pieces, then s-bending all to profile in the Chicago brake. The work borders on tedium but the math and care needed get a lot of different lengths adjusted and the bends just right alleviate any boredom.

I had my Wilson Combat Starbenza on me for Titanium Twenty-five Tuesday, but all of the work was done with my trusty old non-retractable Stanley utility knife that lives in its holder hanging of the upper leaf and scored all 100 ft of cuts 3 times to be snapped in the brake.

The box has all my marking templates for custom drip-edges, on the left, and cap flashings on the right.

For today

I went to post this story yesterday but I didn't hit the post reply button before I left the thread.

Whenever I carry my skeletool it always makes me smile. When our youngest Lilly turned 18 last year, wanted a new double bed. Like everything these days modular with lots of packaging. Well Lilly decided that her and 1 of her besties was putting it together and she wanted us her out the house and didn't want our help  it was the weekend so the wife and i went for dinner and the movies. Made sure they had hex keys and screwdrivers.
Credit to Lilly they got it done by the time we got home.
Anyway I was sitting on the lounge later on when Lilly walked out and asked "how do I get tape off a blade?" And held up my skeletool it was covered in tape residue from tip to pivot. 😲 there was more packaging than she thought. Lilly is the only in my family that will help herself to my collection. As she has already told me that she has already claimed it. I trust her as when she was younger she took an interest when I got a new knife and is the only1 that knows how to close the various locks.

Custom ano and stonewash on this WE Qubit. Such a good little knife. The scale edges are all nicely rounded with no hot spots for me. The 0.10" blade thickness feels great going through material. It loses the bottle-opener feature versus the Civivi version but it picks up something better for me. The detent is vastly superior. While not terrible, the Civivi version tends to have a soft detent. This one breaks crisply with a "ting" and I've heard that from other people who have these.
