Rhein Main Air Base. I did have a 45 day TDY to Ramstein. Took a max custody prisoner there and there was a requirement for one extra LE for max custody prisoners in the confinement.

The guy that owned the Kawasaki flipped it later. Saw it in the parking lot with dirt on it and grass sticking out of parts of the back end 😂

My Goldwing reached an end in '81 when one night an off duty German CiD officer snapped a u-turn in front of me going out of Frankfurt in his VW Scirocco. Put me in the hospital for about a week and my girlfriend for nine. Hit him right about the hinge of the driver's door.

Belated sorry for that idiot in the Scirocco - hope it all mended, also for your girlfriend. I grew up in what you guys call "K-town", not far away from Rhein Main, even closer to Ramstein. Sounds like I'm about half generation younger than you.

I've kind of done a similar thing with my Harley: hit a truck (and flew over it) who was coming against me, he was turning left and cut me off across a light in San Jose. He wasn't even insured .... Anyways, if you see a photo of my Fatboy around BF: that's why it has custom tanks and paintjob .... there is a 100% probability to get into an accident with a bike, all that can be done is dress right. Always cringe when I see people without helmets here. So far, I had the above near total, and a second full total (of my Ducati back then), neither of the two was my fault.

Anyways, good morning.

I'm quite fond of the Laguiole above. If you live in the Bay Area, there are two "Draeger's" (grocery stores). One of them (San Mateo) has a decent knife section, including some Laguioles. Which is where my better half got me the above, > 20 years ago.
