EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

I had an old friend and customer drop by this past Sunday. He brought me a knife that I put one of my low rider pocket clips on, he said in or around 1994 when he worked around back at the Phillips 66 gas station as an attendant there. I saw Bill and dealt with him quite a bit and got my gas there every morning as I was headed to work for my sales job. I liked that knife so much when he left it in the 90s for me to modify that I had to find one for myself but by the time I ordered it I was told that Masur Birch handle was discontinued so I bought the dark brown one, Rosewood I think. Its a lot a harder wood than the Masuer birch but I always liked that birth one. Apparently while here I put that grippy 3m tape on the other side for him (didn't even remember doing that but he said he requested it of me for a better thumb purchase to get it out of his pocket when he needed it) He sharpend the edge down so thin it chipped up in places on him and he brought it by for me to 'fix up'. That I can do still so I told him okay but for the time being I get to carry and use it like it's mine until he swings back by to get it. What a cutting machine he has turned this thing into. He put a true Scandi grind on the thing. I had this wort on my thumb and sliced it right off with the thing no problem, no blood it was amazing! I don't think there is another knife in this house that could do that other than somc scalpels we saved from when we closed the dental office! Ha! Anyway I thought I'd show it. I don't know what they called this knife I just know it's unique and made by EKA in Sweeden and I liked it. And it has to be sporting one of the earlier clips I was making years before the internet was even up and running. I didn't sign on to the net to advertise my pocket clips until then but back when this one was made I replied on word of mouth and the Wannemaker gun and knife show I attended every year in Tulsa to sell my wares. If anyone remembers what this model was called shout it out I want to get another one if they still make it! I tried to find one and didn't see it pop anywhere to the old dealers I used to deal with. In fact I've been out of the knife game for so long a lot of the dealers I have cards for are not even there anymore! Who are you guys buying knives from these days for the best deals and best variety!?

Yes, that’s indeed the venerable EKA Swede 88. Not sure whether it’s still in production, but it used to come with a variety of wooden handles like Birch, Bubinga & Walnut. I think the dark brown one is Bubinga.

Hope you and your family made it through the predicted rains.
We did! Fortunately it rained overnight, Thursday. All our buildings stayed upright and we stayed home Friday/Saturday.

However, an Amazon driver decided it would be a good time to deliver…and got stuck in our driveway Friday night in the dark. Made an absolute mess of things. :(

I did end up driving his vehicle out after about 1/2 hour of him trying.

Took me 1 go. Haha.
