If I were you, I'd buy a diamond sharpening stone (Sharpal if you want a higher quality one, or they can be had for very cheap on the chinese wholesale sites and the Big River site) and then instead of shaping the edge back up to the spine (like most people tend to consider at first), grind the top of the spine down to meet the edge again. This assures that the tip won't stick out of the handle when closed and is usually easier.

They do grind a mean tip on em......Mornin guys! Carried my two favorite tantos yesterday. I used to be really against buying any tantos for the first good bit of getting into knives, however after running into a couple tanto CRKs (for a good price, that I couldn't turn down), I'm becomming a pretty big fan of them.
