Very nice knife. Speaking of Texas, dig the made-in-Dallas. I’ve been to their shop a number of times. Great people too. I love the Tactile Maverick.

If USPS Tracking is correct, I'll have one of those in Magnacut in my mailbox tomorrow. I've been on the "notify me" list at one of the big on-line knife places for months, and they finally became available again in the last week or so.

Doesn't feel much different than with the slower 230 Winchester .... on paper, the 185gr has almost 10% more energy, but ~5% less impulse .... (compared to the 230gr Speer Gold Dot).

In the late 70's I had a Star PD .45. Aluminum frame, light and compact for a .45 in those days. I think the only comparable at that time was probably the Colt Commander with aluminum frame. Used to load it with the (Remington?) fully jacketed 185 grain "wadcutter" load. Very controllable with less wear and tear, and acceptably effective for me. Like many others, wish I had not parted with it along the way.
