EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Still rocking the RSK in MagnaCut. She's wearing OG aluminum scales at the moment. I see a few folks here with AWT scales for theirs. I'm curious how they feel in hand. They look a little blocky. Part of me wants to try them out since they seem popular but at the same time I'm not sure I want to spend the money on them when I quite like these already. Opinions would be great.

Opinions will vary, of course, but I much prefer the AWT scales to the originals. Here's a pic of the newer MC, with my older one with M390 for comparison. My wife's kitchen scales says 4.69oz for the one with AWTs, and 4.55 for the original. And the AWT scales aren't pocket shredders, like the original G10s.

This'll be a weird answer, not unlike some I've seen where someone asks a review question and a commenter replies "I don't know." I don't have a Hogue RSK nor any AWT scales, though I've seen plenty of both here. What I do have currently are 6 Griptilians, 5 of which have aftermarket scales and two of which are Ritters. The Hogue handles look remarkably similar in shape to Grips and the AWTs look very similar to the Wilkins scales on four of my knives. What I hated about the stock Griptilian scales wasn't their shape, but their plastic-y tinniness, closed back construction, and thier sharp, uncomfortable jimping. Of my two non-Wilkins Grips, one wears Igorded Micarta, mostly identical is shape to stock, and the other is a 551-1 with open back construction and comfortable G-10 scales. Those shapes are fine in-hand, but I must say I prefer the "blockier" Wilkins scales as they lock into my hand much better, especially at the butt. Of course YMMV.

Here's an old pic of my large Ritter with Wilkins scales just for a visual comparison to those AWTs you may be contemplating.

I found the AWT scales to be a little less “tactile” than the factory scales. Seemed to slip in my hand during everyday use. I put the factory scales back on both of my RSK’s. (YMMV)

EDIT: AWT is a great company (they were customers of mine prior to retiring) and the grips are made in the USA.
