I replied to Armithius 's question yesterday about AWT scales for his Hogue RSK with my opinion of Wilkins scales for BMK Griptilians--definitely a parallel answer based on similarity, not experience. Anyway, that prompted me to get out a couple Grips to handle while writing that response and led me to get out a different one to carry today. This knife has aluminum Wilkins scales, like the AWT's, and one of Kevin's oval hole, S30V replacement blades as well--something I'd always wanted and was lucky to find after those were no longer offered new. This one came to me off the exchange already modded and included a bright Wilkins deep-carry clip which I replaced with a stock Parkerized split arrow as it's a favorite BMK clip which complements the other black hardware on the knife while contrasting nicely with the blade and scales.





Aside from their appearance and improved feel in my hand, something I always liked about Kevin's scales are the included partial backspacers with integral lanyard holes.

Got a new knife in today! A Shiro! A Shiro F95NL to be exact. I've been eyeing them for the past 20 years or so (can't remember when they started showing up), just never could really afford one before. I got a good, solid deal on this one though and it's fantastic! Nice and smooth, secure, and really just functionally perfect. Feels great in hand too. I was messing around about the yard with it and the Ultratech this afternoon. Happy friday guys, hope you have an awesome weekend!
