EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

There's kind of a funny thing with older model knives that you've had for a while. Maybe you don't carry them much if at all anymore or maybe the maker's newer models have improved features or better (read, newer) steels or pivots or materials or design features. Or maybe you get 'em out and they're a little dry or stiff or got put away needing a refreshed edge or your technique for opening/closing that particular knife is rusty.....

Well, I got my RHK MP1 out today as I hadn't given my Hinderers any love in a while and my newer ones--two Skinny's and a Firetac--had gotten all the most recent attention. It flipped just OK on the first try, the edge was a bit meh, and the Micarta scale was a little dark and smudgy, so it got a quick touch-up on the SharpMaker through three grits, a couple drops of TriFlow on its Teflon washers, and a bit of a scrub with Dawn and a brush to restore its linen Micarta scales to their original mottled appearance I find so appealing.

Now I remember that the S35VN takes a great edge easily, the knife is the best Teflon washer flipper of all my RHKs, the whole thing looks great, and it fits my hand just right. :D👍

Got a new knife in today! A Shiro! A Shiro F95NL to be exact. I've been eyeing them for the past 20 years or so (can't remember when they started showing up), just never could really afford one before. I got a good, solid deal on this one though and it's fantastic! Nice and smooth, secure, and really just functionally perfect. Feels great in hand too. I was messing around about the yard with it and the Ultratech this afternoon. Happy friday guys, hope you have an awesome weekend!🤙

You’re going to love that thing. I missed out on a deal on an Astrum this morning and I’m still sick over it. Be careful. Once the Shiro bug bites you’re hooked.
Congratulations brother ! I got my first Shiro just 2 years ago and was equally impressed. They truly are superb. The rabbit hole is deep and spendy though, lol !
Congrats indeed, friend. Your fellow members know well what you're in for. If you need to better grasp that (and to post your F95NL) you should stop by The Bears' Den --that's Russian for "rabbit hole."
