As requested by the kind and wise @woodysone , 2 of our few Rhododendruns are nearly in full bloom.

I find the neighbor’s Rose “tree” even more impressive.

The Oz “Rosie”….well, I honestly don’t have a more preferred EDC folder. These things seem to change w/ the season.

Wally approves !

EDIT : I stand corrected. According to my wonderful mother, the neighbor’s tree is a Camellia, not a rose. That wonderful lady has been settin’ me straight for 55 years now ! 🥰 Looks like I need to start hunting for a Camellia knife, not a Rosie. 🤪
These camellia knives are very rare brother1777164837006.png

I began today with the full-size Rukus in pocket before heading uptown to the PO to pick up the Micarta scales for the S35VN Red RAT I bought for myself to put together another just like the one I'm gifting my son. I struggled swapping them out this afternoon as the knife kept coming out way off center when done. It has an unusual pivot set-up with a double-shouldered, threaded bushing receiver to take a screw from each side and double washers each side too with a phosphor-bronze against each liner and a white, woven, paper-thin washer against both sides of the blade tang. I must have had something pinched in there when installing the scales as I failed to keep the blade locked open and the knife partly popped apart. I finally got it right on the third try after a full dis- and re-assembly.

Anyway, here's that one with the stock clip re-installed (the new clip supposedly arrives Monday) alongside the mighty Ruckus.

Wait! What's wrong with this pic! Oh crap, I put the clip on the wrong side. Duh.

Oh, there....that's better....

I took the nicely grippy G10 scales from the Red RAT and put those on my old AUS8 combo-bladed Model 1, replacing the plain black nylon grips, so here's the current state my little two-rat pack, the S35VN waiting for it's new clip and both knives in need of tails. I mean, rats need tails, right?
