The factory edge, unfortunately, was mediocre at best. That is why I handed the knife over to the finest sharpener I knew in the city. The result was a highly neat, perfectly even cutting edge along its entire length. I cannot attach a video, but a hair drawn across the cutting edge gets instantly split. The angle turned out to be around 28 degrees per side. Unfortunately, the engraving on factory Microtechs from those years was terribly executed. It wore off against my trousers' fabric in about a month and a half. At first, I was furious, but then I realized that a faded, worn engraving suits this knife much better. The distressed look kind of implies that the knife is, to put it mildly, not new, and the slightly erased engraving actually adds to its character, perfectly fitting the vibe of a brutal, manly steel blade with "scars."
