EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

This is my boy Sammy. We found him on the side of the road a little over 3 years ago. Last week he had a marble sized tumor removed. After our short morning walk, the vet let us know he has melanoma. Poor fella. Such a good dog. Please wish him the best.

All the best to good boy Sammy, and to you. This is never easy. You get to be buds forever, but it's their forever. 🫂

My bee friend here wishes you all a great weekend! Hopefully most of you who are still working have a 3 day weekend.

I really love my Striders and CRK and need to start downsizing the rest of my collection

Doooo eeeeet! I spent a few years carefully downsizing and it's been great. I usually hover around five EDC options and that more than covers my needs (and my "needs" lol), plus task-specific knives and a few sentimental ones I don't really carry.

Gorgeous knives. :)

'Twas another hot one today and we've had the AC going full blast since we fired it up after lunch yesterday. I dumped the dehumidifier over in the wood shop, got the basement one going, cleaned up the sheetmetal shop some, and put the basement door back on the bench to work on sanding it again prior to urethaning. I did nothing out in the heat save for snapping some knife pics and a little back and forth between buildings.

I grabbed my 581 Barrage today which is one I like a lot despite not carrying it frequently. I searched back here and was a little surprised that I picked it up on the Exchange some11 years ago. It didn't take me too long back then to do some light mods to get it more to my liking--de-assisting, removing the lock and backspacer while adding plain standoffs to open up the back, changing the bolster screws to black with some spares I had kicking around, and adding black thumb studs that BMK kindly provided me.

There's a lot to like here--high flat-ground pointy M390 steel blade with swedge, generously skeletonized liners, a chonky hand-filling grip with finger mill-outs, and my favorite BMK clip--black oxide split arrow.
