EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Million Dollar Highway somewhere between Silverton and Ouray, CO.

Zoom in about halfway up the mountain on the left and you can see the highway. Spectacular views!

Wow! Great shots of such majestic scenery

I bought this Kapara off the Exchange before we left for Vermont and picked it up at my PO on our return. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it so far after handling last night and carrying it today, though the occasion to cut anything with it hasn't occurred yet. On the one hand it feels small for a 3.5" knife, my comparably-sized CF Sebenza 21 affording a much more robust grip, for example. On the other, it's extremely well-made, attractive, has great action (Gen 2), absolutely disappears in pocket, has exquisite carbon fiber, and I'm a big fan of the Spyderco wire clip. The F&F of Taiwan-made Spydie's is absolutely top-shelf and compares very favorably with knives at considerably higher price points. Sounds like I'm talking myself into it....

The Kapara is a beautiful knife although I have heard some people mention the handle is a little narrow and the CF while beautiful, not so much traction but I've had my eye on it anyway if you decide it's not for you :D. Congrats on the new acquisition.

Nice pictures! I've been very much on the fence about this one. I'm hoping to check one out next week in person and make a decision. I'm a sucker for slicey blades and nice carbon fiber scales.

EDC on topic
This picture is from yesterday but the knife gets carried daily. Sorry it's the Ti Native 5 ChazzyP ChazzyP ;)

Just received mine today and I couldn’t have described it better. I was expecting a bit more knife lol. Pictures of the Kapara made it look larger than it really is.

I would agree that the handle is on the narrow side, no real traction on the CF. Although, the handle gives reliable purchase — doesn’t feel like the knife would slip out from light to medium tasks.

Thanks, Edgeoflife Edgeoflife and marcus52AR marcus52AR . The more I handle the Kapara the more I'm liking it. As with a lot of Spydies it has both a rearward grip position and a forward choke-up grip. The rear grip actually feels more solid to me with the downturn at the handle butt resting on my pinkie and the arched back working as a palm swell. In the choke-up grip with my index finger in the forward choil and thumb on the blade ramp the knife feels skinnier but not bad with a three-finger forward pinch and the arched back against my thumb radius. A little jimping on the blade ramp would be good there, though. As far as the CF goes, it's not at all slippery, has sort of a soft feel to it, and is nicely contoured.

I'm a big boy, Marcus, and can take it when you post pics of your fluted Ti Native (he says while wiping away a small tear). Someday I'll find another.

Well it's definitely not a hard use knife, but seems fine for EDC tasks as you say. I do like the CF and while it's not grippy I don't find it slick either.
