I'm looking for a nice, not so much tactical looking EDC knife. I would like a benchmade or higher end production brands. I would like a s30v, s35vn (if possible), or any other high end steel (I don't really want 154) the blade length I would want 4 or less inches long. I don't want to spend more 250$ anything less would be awesome. Any suggestions will be a big help, the knife won't be used or any self defence purposes only light to medium EDC tasks. Thank you for any help.

You can find the Griptilian in M4 and you can buy the Ritter Grp in S30v.

If you dont mind assisted, I got a chance to hold the Volli at blade and it is in S30v and a really nice knife.

They also make the Bone Collector series and the 710 in D2.

The Subrosa is S30v.

Then you have the 940/943 that are in S30v as well.

Out of the ones I listed I personally prefer the 710, 940, and the Volli for general edc. Those 3 you can find for less than 150 in most places but the 940 tends to run a little bit higher than the other 2. These may not be all of the Benchmades that arent 154 but they are all blades I have either carried/owned/handled.

You certainly are having quite a time picking out an edc! On 6/8, you started an "new EDC" thread asking about the Cold Recon 1 or the Spartan. Then on 6/9 it was a "new EDC" thread about the Spyderco Paramilitary or Military. And today its "new edc" Benchmade thread!

I'd say I agree strongly with what shandrydan just suggested...a Grip is a great and widely beloved knife and is available is several sexy new steels.

Though I get the feeling that suggestion might go in one ear and out the other, and by tomorrow you will be "off" Benchmade and onto some other brand! :D

I know but I want the cold steel for harder use, the spyderco thing I was just wondering for further down the road, and the higher end benchmade EDC I want for when I'm out and want a more friendly knife so other s don't freak out when they see it. Because some people may freak out when they see somebody with a 4 inch long recon 1.

There are of course many knives that would fulfill your requirements; personally I love the BM 940. Thin, light, capable, versatile -- it's a bit of a chameleon insofar as it blends into most environments and is suitable for a wide variety of tasks. Not too scary-looking imo.

That's my recommendation. You can get an m4 steel grip and get custom scales fairly cheap. You would be under your budget and have a great knife that's unique

Boker pipsqueak ;) 2 5/8" s35vn blade, titanium framelock with micarta scale and is within your budget. The hollow ground blade is an excellent slicer.

Boker has a lot of problems, I've heard a lot of them have terrible blade play. They have great materials but they don't seem to have bad build quality.

Every thing ive heard and seen about boker has been that the ones made in solingen germany are are of much higher quality that is where the pipsqueak is made. Mine has no issues what so ever. The ones made in china are another story the quality on the boker plus line can be hit and miss. If you stick to the germany made knives you will have much much better luck

Spyderco Native 5 (S35VN) is awesome, currently my EDC. Or Sage 1, currently my other EDC.

Save a bit more or have patience on the exchange: Sebenza!
