My recommendation, and my personal carry for biking, is a three part combo. I carry a bike specific multitool, my vic farmer, and my spyderco endura. The only change is between my endura and my RAT 3, depending on where I am going.

Ahh, knife users and carriers: great minds think alike! :D Hello my blade-carrying enthusiasts, knife-junkies, and multi-tool afficionado brothers! A special hello goes to my Leatherman "Wave" and Ontario RAT-3 carrying brothers, we are a special breed I must say because those are special tools indeed!

IMHO, I believe that any outdoor adventure (regardless of time spent "out there") calls for three components: a "belt" knife (size varies), folder, and multi-tool. You can chop, whack, destroy, whatever with the belt knife. You can make fine cuts, food prep, detail work with the folder. And of course, the multi-tool is just that: it has MULTI-uses.
