I have been noticing that I like using my fixed blade more than my folders. My girlfriend got me a Buck 113 for christmas that I find using more than my Benchmades.. Is this normal?!?! Who else carries a fixed blade in their front pocket of their jeans?

I have a 3" knife horizontally on my belt up front, basically my buckle in a way. Yeah I'd call it normal to carry a small fixed blade, lets keep it small though ;p no need scaring the populous

I've carried my BK2 in my front pocket. Haha Once. Then I left it in my back pocket a few times. Love this neck if the woods. I'm working in getting an IZULA. Worked out a trade for my BM585. I keep trading things! Lol but I love fixed blades more.

Yep me too, never really considered a fixed blade a pocket knife, but ever since I got my spartan enyo my folders have taken a back seat. Still enjoy them but IWB FB carry has a lot of advantages for me, no clips to catch on anything is one.

I carry a BHK Frontier First in my right front pocket along with a Maratac aaa and a PS4.

Pocket carry a fixed blade? No, I need my pockets for other stuff. Sometimes I carry a fixed blade on my belt behind my right hip in a kydex sheath. I also have a Dozier that carries comfortably just to the left of my buckle. I find the ideal size to be around 7" inches overall. I need at least a 3.5" handle to grip with four fingers. The Spyderco Mule is a good size for carry.

+1

I could have written this. I carry the same way and I like a smaller blade. The bark river mini Canadian is my primary right now. Awesome EDC.

I'm not alone! Haha I thought I have been being a black sheep on accident hill! I love carrying a fixed blade for the reliability, strength and easy of use(no locks to fail). That's just me though.

I love my fixed blades and I've snatched up some real beauties here in these forums. Got some nice little customs. Some times I carry a fixed paired with a folder. Or just a fixed. I find that if I carry a smaller folder I feel under knifed. Not so with a small fixed blade.

I've gotten out of the habit, but have carried fixed blades from time to time as a general use knife. IMHO when on the belt, they are much more convenient than most all folders. I even enjoyed carrying my AG Russel Woodswalker in its pocket sheath too and respect the pocket sheaths for what they are. Give fixed blades a shot, they can be viable EDC choices.

I carry an Amsler Knives VAL that I have carried every day since it's arrival!!

I just like the simplicity of fixed blades more, especially if you wind up having to wash them or use them for something dirty or something like that. I've carried around my Izula in my front pocket often, but sometimes I like it on my belt too. I think I must have bigger pockets than some people though, because I can carry both my Izula and my Leatherman ST200 in my right front pocket.

I carry a fixed blade that I made in a kydex sheath on my right front belt semi cross draw. And a benchmade barrage in my pocket. Unobtrusive when not being used but capable of almost anything when needed.

Like this. The clear kydex let's me know just how much crap gets in a holster of an EDC. Lol
