What is all your opinion on the best edge bevel for a small 3 to 3 1/4" drop point skinner?something like a sebenza.by the way i want to make the knife out of talonite.what about grinds? i am a fan of the hollow grind but have heard that you need more of a flat grind with plenty of edge behind talonite.thanks for all your help.

i hollow grind almost all of my knives, especially small hunters...as i am a firm believer in the fact that you want your knife to continue to be the same thickness at the edge throughout many sharpenings... many sharpenings!! i am not putting down people who flat grind their blades ok..get that straight...i have just seen too many flat ground blades that start looking like axes after a while (i am referring to a certain company in middle fla in particular- nice knives...just too thick at the edge, made of of steel that worked good in the 50s: so i hollow grind...but as rob has suggested and i have found to be true, you dont want to grind it thin because it isnt as hard as a lot of tool steels....it is not a steel....it is a super alloy....so leave the edge at least .025 or thereabouts...i have measured a few that were around .028, and grind a long bevel for the edge...works great for me...let me know how it works out for you....i guess i should add that is pretty thick for me (025) as i usually make my edges in the .015+ .003 or thereabouts on bg42, 440v and 420v...thats for skinners and utility /things change considerably when i make a combat knife or a camp knife (always flat grind them-want them to work like an axe)
