edge grinder options

What is out there besides the EF-48. Maybe I'm just no good at inventing search parameters, but I'm not finding much. Seems either DIY or EF-48.

The EF-48 is just a 48" version of the KMG. Any belt grinder will work. VS for slower belt speed is a real plus. Google "Knife Belt Grinder"

Thanks for the link. I know that webpage - I meant a horizontal grinder, not knife edge. I have a KMG variable speed grinder - interested in a horizontal setup. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I have the EF-48 with the extension plate so I can use the same 2X72' belts, that is pretty much it unless you want to build your own.

stan, do you have the motor under or overhanging - and how much width does it eat up on your bench with the 72" extension?

I did not have room for it on my bench so built a stand for it. I think the measurements are 18X 39". will get a couple of pic's tomorrow and true measurement.

The Maximizer by Hardcore is a 2X72" and probably the best horizontal grinder there is.. as long as you're OK with spending at least $4000 :thumbup:
