Edge pin spacing

I tried to google search but came up dry...and I even recall asking this question a year or two ago (the last time I tried it!)

So please answer my brain fart. Should edge pins be centered about .2" from the edge or should the top of the hole (.2"+radius of pin hole) be about .2" from the edge?

I just drilled one and it looks a bit too close to me...but my eye is not practiced in this yet. I've been sticking to center pins for a while...and here I try something new after 9PM and my brain shuts down. (smacks forehead)
 
When doing a pin close to the edge of a handle you want it far enough in so if you put a radius on your handle material it wont hit the pin...this would cause the round pin to "oval".
