Edge polishing question

I got an edge pro apex recently and have been using it a fair bit, im getting great results with sharpness, but im not quite satisfied with my polishing. I have come close but still havent achieved a perfectly scratch and scuff free mirror finish. Im using 120 to 220 to 400 to 600 to 1,000 to 2,000, and to 3,000 grit, spend a fair amount of time on each one, keep a consistent angle and sharpen the same way with each stone so my scratch pattern is even as well. I have kept my stones clean too so im really unsure why I cant get a perfect finish, do I need a higher grit or more experience?

3000-grit will give you a near-polish, but the scratches are still large enuf to diffuse light. I use Flitx for true polishing.

It's not edges that I work, it's the blade faces. I do all my work on glass, so if I'm Flitzing I put a little Flitx on a strip of cloth, put that on the glass, and pass the blade over it as if it were sandpaper.

This is a BM 523 tanto that I modded to a spearpoint. Blade faces taken to 3000, but you can still see the E/W scratches. Just looks a little "hazy" in hand when closely examined, that's what's happening w/ your edges
