Does anyone know the micron rating for the Edge Pro #400 stone? I've seen an old listing that has their 320 stone, but no update for when the 320 was dropped for the 400. Thanks.

Wow. The stone is missing from the Grand Unified Grit chart. I guess it must lie in between #320 and #600 (20 micron?) but am curious to know it myself.

So Chosera 800 (20 micron?) is Edge Pro 400 is Shapton 2000 (7.35 micron?)
so there you have it , edge pro 400 is 20 micron or 7.35 micron,
heheheheh

update: according to bosq/grinding_and_honing_part_1.pdf
OLD JIS 800 is 18 micron, and new JIS 800 is 14micron,
so heheheheheh
update: read the the-grand-unified-grit-chart.856708 wrong, choosera 800 is 14 micron around J1200, and not J800

So edge pro 400 is probably like 14 micron, more like shapton 1200 :)
heheh

Puzzling.
According to the Naniwa web page regarding polishing compound, their #800 seems ~35 micron, and #3,000 12 micron.
The Shapton grit rating on the Grand Unified Grit chart is based on their Glass stones. I am not sure if grits of Shapton Pro can be considered the same.

If comparing EP and Chosera stones, #600 would be around 10, and #400 be 30 micron ish, based on the above table.
The value for #600 is similar to that in the Grand Unified Grit chart. But #320 EP stone is rated 29 micron in the chart???

When comparing with Shapton, EP #600 would be 3 micron. I don't think EP #600 is that fine.

In my experience the Shapton 30,000 is equal to the Edge Pro 4000 polishing stone, the 6000 tape will leave a noticeably better polish. Micron rating is only one small part of the equation.
