Edge Pro Apex 4

I'm glad you re read my post. The EP is NOT a bad system, in fact I think it's a great system for anyone who wants mirrored/even bevels and can't sharpen freehand. It's great in that you can take someone off the street and within a few hours have them sharpening like a pro. Not many systems offer those results. The whole thing is just not for me, but I enjoy taking my time and sharpening.
I think this is a very valid point. While I use my EP a lot, there are times when I enjoy using benchstones for the sake of using them. Sometimes it's nice to do it without any help. I should also note that the EP really helped my freehand sharpening, as now I know what it is that I'm shooting for at each stage.

I've been using an Apex for about 6-months now and the only knives I've really had trouble with are ones with recurves, like my ZT 200. Even with the 1/2 stones, they are too wide to get into the curve. Any help from the pros would be appreciated.

You can really put a mirror polished edge on any blade with the system..The 2000 grit and 6000 grit tapes are a must have to really give that edge its gleam..

I agree with you..i think ankerson needs to do a video which shows how to tackle a recurve. You should see the job he did on his Benchmade 710.

Wrap some sandpaper around a short length of half-round molding, put that into your stone holder, and you're good to go.
