Edge Pro Apex... yep another one

I know there are plenty of threads on the edge pro out there, but none answer my question.

I'm interested in purchasing the edge pro apex 3 which goes up to the 1000 grit stones. If I purchase this can a get hair shaving sharp with the 1000 grit stones?

Sure they do.

You can get hair shaving sharp with the 320 grit stone. I have easily shaved hair after initial bevel making on the 220 grit stone, and then removing the burr with the 320 on both sides resulted in hair shaving sharp.

1000 grit will leave you with a partial mirror polish.

In all reality if you only want a hair shaving sharp, you could get by with the apex 1 kit, the 320 grit stone is plenty, but if you want more than that...

1000 Grit Waterstone finish - Muddy mirror, under closer inspection you will see some lines in the finish yet.

3000 Grit Polish Tape - Clean mirror, under closer inspection you can't see any sharpening lines, true mirror.
