Update
This is from the Edge Pro guy(who is a great fellow).
The stone is glazed from the diamond cutting wheel. Break the glaze.
I worked up a slurry,w/ sand, flat concrete, water and worked it down a little.
It's better, I reprofiled a AUS8 & S30V blade without much trouble. Not sure it's as good as the old one, will do more to be sure. It may be acceptable.

i went to the congress tools site (mentioned earlier)...can you buy reasonable quanities from them? the ruby 80 or 60 looks promising...they also carry a diamond ultra stone 200,400,600 grits. has anyone expirence with these? these could be good for micro serrations. is mr.dale edge-pro following this thread? input please?

if you use oil, you can't go back to water. i'm no expert and my experience
with stones is water will work with any/most

Coarse water stones wear quickly. They also cut quickly and that's the trade off. You should keep them flat by lapping them from time to time. Once you have the angle cut with the coarse stone, you shouldn't have to use it again on that knife. Medium should restore the bevel quickly enough. View the coarse stones as something that don't need to be used often but will need regular replacement.

Hi,

Thanks for all that info. I still think that Edge Pro should offer a coraser stone in the kit. I think it should be diamond. Lasts longer
