Edge Pro is releasing a new sharpener tomorrow

Checking Edge Pro website, and $435 for a basic kit with 2 stones is not very enticing, or competitive. Maybe less expensive from a retailer?

Wow! That is too rich for me. I hope they sell a lot of them but I think I will stick with my ceramic benchstones and Sharpmaker.

Are EdgePro sharpeners typically signed by the makers?

Recently I was cleaning mine up and noticed it was signed by Cody. I googled it but didn’t find anything. I’m not the original owner and was just curious.

Cody is now the face of, and runs the company that was started and run by Ben Dale for many years. Ben is still there, afaik, but not running day to day ops.

Yes, my old Pro model was signed by Ben Dale. It is a nice touch that makes me appreciate the attention to detail and that Ben took the time to do it.

No, they are not typically signed and I don't think that many are, so you got a special one. Cody manages the day to day operations but Ben is still there pretty much every day, and I think did most of the development work on the BevelTech.

Thank you. I picked it up used but in like-new condition along with a couple other sharpening gadgets on Facebook marketplace a few years ago.

I’ve been using it since then and never notice the signature until I decided to give it a deep cleaning.

Give Ben and Cody a for me. They build a fantastic product.

I have had mine for 24 years and it is sighed, looking over the new model I don't see anything that would make me want to upgrade.

Mine was signed, like many others I assume...



13 years and counting here on the EP Apex. I would certainly not mind having a shiny new model, but I have honestly no reason to upgrade. It is still performing like new, and it had not been sitting idle either... I have worn out multiple OEM SiC and alu oxide stones, and also a few CKTG diamond stones... I've been using Chef Knives To Go diamond stones since about 2015.
