I bought an used edge pro couple of weeks ago and tried it out for the first time today. Before moving on to my expensive knives I tried it on a cheap knife. Paramilitary 2. And man do I gotta say it is the best sharpening system I have ever used... If anyone has second doubt about getting I can not recommend this system enough. I got the most perfect edge I've gotten on any of my knives using other systems. The result was amazing. I just had to put it out there!

Edge pro +1!!!

Yeah, ive had mine about a year now and couldn't be happier.

I really like how I don't have to clamp the knife down like the Wicked Edge or Lansky system.

Congratulations, enjoy! My EP Apex was the best knife investment that I have ever made, bar none.

I cant say i really like mine. I did at first but for me it just takes so long to get my desired results. If you like polished edges its great. But I admit I really regret buying mine. Glad you like yours though. The differences are what keeps this hobby interesting. And I must clarify my lack of patience is really to blame. I really dont like most sharpening systems and stick with a ceramic rod and strop these days. The results are good enough for now.

I'll go along with ya on this one. I've had mine for at least 15 years. Although I only use it 2-3 times a year, I think it's the very best sharpening system out there. I did mod mine a bit by adding very powerful magnets under the base of the table, and a stop-collar to the vertical post, but other than that, I use it the way it came. It gives me a perfect edge regardless of the length of the blade, from a 2" pen blade to a 36" sword blade, narrow stiletto to a wide machete.

i got the edge pro copy about 5 months ago along with some real EP-stones and love mine as well, took me a little longer then most people to get the hang of using it! but i think it truly dose what other sharpeners can't,i use it maybe 2 times a week!but all my knifes come out perfect and only a little time on the strop after is needed for a hair popping edge.;)

So I want to get the Edge Pro but I'm not sure if the fourth package is worth it. Do the polishing tapes really add to it or would I be better off with just the third package that only has all the stones.

Don't bother with the polishing tapes. Instead, be sure to get a few stone 'blanks...' Then buy sheets of polishing film and cut your own tapes. MUCH cheaper in the long run, much greater range of grits, and YES... the polishing film/tapes ARE a valuable way to finish up your edges, taking you all the way to final stropping on bare leather.

I just bought some cheapo diamond paste from ebay. I use them on the worn tapes. They work ok for me.
