I want to get some feedback from everyone. What is a good edge thickness for a EDC/utility knife? I want to see what thicknesses others are using.

1/8" stock,.010 edge. I take my folders down to about .005. But on hunters, skinners and the like I use .010.

Ok, anywhere around .010 will do fine,be careful not to over heat the edge. It's easy to do on thin edges.

Thanks, I did find that out the hard way, I was grinding and going too fast, next thing I know, the edge had changed colors.

Also, one knife that I was carrying as a EDC with a 3 1/2 in blade, kind of a hard use EDC, the thickness was about .02 right before the primary cutting edge, then it got a lot thinner. I guess I'm just trying to see what thickness I like for a good tough EDC utility. Something that cuts, but is also durable.
