I strongly prefer the plain edge, but can live with partial serrations. As long as most of the edge is plain. The partial serrations seem to come in handy for cutting rope and opening cardboard boxes; stuff that dulls an edge pretty quickly.

I think we should send a copy of this poll to some of the larger manufacturers so they'll see that the combo edge isn't as popular as they seem to think, considering that they make so many of them. I personally will not buy anything with a combo edge and I have very little interest in full serrations as well.

In the main, I prefer plain. At the office my EDC is a Kershaw Scallion (plain). Away from the office, I carry a Cold Steel Pro-lite (Drop-point - plain) clipped in my front pants pocket and it's fraternal twin (with a serrated edge) clipped into the waistband of my trousers over the left rear pocket. I use the plain edge far more frequently, but I have the other, "just in case."

Plain, to the point of having taken a serrated Delica to my Norton stone with some elbow grease to make it plain.

Plain
I have many spydie serrated and Plain is my edc from now on.
The PE/SE combo is a fad. I don't see the value to half a knife. I try to stay away from them. I have a few and haven't found a one I like.

I just realized that, although I voted, I never answered my own question in the post. PE is first by far, followed by SE. I have absolutely no use for CE. I've had a couple in the past and all that style of blade serves to do is remind you of what you could do if you had a full PE or SE.

Plain edge is my first choice for 95% of uses. The small number of times a serrated edge is needed then the serrated blade on my wave handles it just fine, I dont own any folders/ fixed blades with serrations and the only knife I would consider with serrations would be a dive knife owing to the high likelyhood of coming across vegetation/ rope etc underwater.

Same with combo edge, dive knife only nothing else.

It really Depends. For a Small blade(3 to 4 inch) Serration is my choice coz more cutting surface and the edge stays longer. Plain for medium blade (4 to 6 inch) since enough length for cutting and ease of sharpening. Combo for large blade(6 to 9 inch) since the blade is big enought for both pain and serrated. Hopefully most of it is plain.
And The really big blade (9 inch and above) of coz plain. Since is either use as a sword or for clearing. No need for serration for clearing.
