Edible plants and stuff !

Since " other stuff " is included. The tree trimmer guy for the powerline company here ( National Greed ) said this was one of the largest poison ivy vines he had ever run across. It looks like it died of old age , still toxic , just not growing anymore

I don't remember the details offhand, but Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) has some goodly amounts of necessary nutrients.

BTW, for access to a multitude of pictures, try Google Image Search found here.

The Hombres here on the farm pick this by the bucketfull. take it back to the hood and sell it. I'v had some of their tacos with some chopped up on it. tastes like lettuce!.

I believe it's suppose to have a high amount of Omega 3.

This is a Tiger Lily and the bulbs make good eating either raw or boiled, they taste a little like wild rice !!!

I saw where the Purslane is related to Rose Mose which is common in the nurseries around here. Does anyone know if it's edible also.

Although not wild, squash blossoms and I believe pansies are edible. I don't think anyone mentioned rose hips and they are full of vitamin c.

damn that tiger lily looks like quite a recognizable flower
Yep, Turk's cap. Don't know the scientific name.
I've had great luck with this plant. Plantain (Plantago) is edible and medicinal. Crush the leaves and apply to any wound or wasp/bee/catfish sting. It tastes good in salads.
