Edible ??

Came across this fella on a local hike here in East Tenn and don't recall seeing one this large before. It measures about 2 feet across. What is cool is the way the cups are formed to catch water from one level to the next. Anyone know what kind of critter this is and if you can eat it ?

Looks like a Hen of the Woods. Dont know for sure. Hen of the Woods are suppose to be delicious.
